Kojic Acid
Natural element extracted from some fungal species. It works by deactivating the tyrosinase enzyme which transforms tyrosine into melanin through various processes. Since the molecule of this acid is similar to tyrosine, it acts as a “competitor” for tyrosinase and partially inhibits its function. In this way it avoids the formation of melanin, hinders the formation of blemishes on the skin and boasts undisputed lightening properties.
